Inpatient Therapy
The Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic (PIA) offers outpatient psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care primarily to residents of Magdeburg and the surrounding area, but is also open to other patients.
The PIA’s treatment services are aimed at patients with mental illnesses that require intensive and/or multidisciplinary treatment, or for whom no other adequate treatment options exist, e.g.,
- particularly severe and/or chronic cases
- Treatment of patients recently discharged from inpatient care who still have an increased need for specialized therapeutic services
- Emergency and crisis intervention
The primary goals are: ensuring continuity of care, avoiding readmissions, shortening inpatient stays, and reaching underserved patient groups.
The following conditions are treated as a priority:
- Schizophrenia spectrum disorders
- Mood disorders
- Anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders
- organic disorders and dementias
